Trekfest 2014 – GAME ON!!

TrekFestIf you weren’t aware before, I’ll be reminding you all over the next couple of months as the small but intrepid band of C&G’ers get ready to trek across the Brecons covering 27 miles in just 12 hours, it’s going to be gruelling & knackering but above all satisfying and a great achievement as we aim to raise money for Charity at the same time.

A little bit about why we’re doing it:

Brain injury and in particular adopted brain injury affects so many children and their families and in many cases doesn’t necessarily surface until sometime after the event.

Last year, this affected my niece who has recently undergone brain surgery and although the situation is improved, she is still not out of the woods and will most likely be living with this for the rest of her life.

Child Brain Injury affects not just the child but the family as well. Everybody has to readjust rapidly to the sudden impact this has on what was a normal/happy day to day life.

From the Child Brain Injury Trust website………….

“Every half an hour in the UK, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury. The Child Brain Injury Trust provides information, support and training to anyone affected by this devastating and life changing condition.”

So please give generously, the Trekfest we’re participating in will be 12 hours of endurance across the Brecons and even after the sore feet have healed, it will be over. For the kids going through brain injury, they will have this for a lifetime. Help us to give then some support!

Thank you for reading!
